La Maison — Prescentia
La Maison
Perfume never enters a room; it appears in one. We built this house for that instant — the presence of a scent.
The name
Prescentia is built from three parts: pre, from presence — the way a fragrance occupies a room without touching anything in it; scent, the word itself; and ‑ia, the Latin ending it shares with essentia. Read together, they say what our tagline says — the presence of a scent. The name is the tagline in one word. Say it pre‑SEN‑tia — three soft beats, the stress in the middle, like a heart note. We correct people gently, and only ever once.
The rooms
We started with a disagreement: fragrance — the most intimate thing a person wears — is sold on the internet in grids, cards and white boxes. So instead of cards, rooms. Instead of a list of notes, colour in the air. In this house every perfume dresses its own night: the spotlights are lit by its opening and its drydown, and the dust drifting through the air carries its top, heart and base notes as colour — derived from the perfume itself, never invented for effect. The house stays cream and brass; each scent brings its own darkness.
The house
Prescentia is a young, independent Swedish house — no grandfather's atelier, no borrowed century, and we will not pretend otherwise. We choose fragrances from the established houses of perfumery and present them to Sweden and the rest of the EU with the attention usually reserved for a maker's own work: the notes given the first word, every bottle staged as a presence rather than a product. You can pay by card or with Klarna.
A scent of our own
One day the label on a bottle here will say Prescentia. A line of our own is the long ambition of the house — perfumes composed under our name, sold in rooms built for them. It is not this year's promise, and we will not pretend otherwise. Until then the promise stays the same: first, the presence of a scent. One day, a scent of our own.
